      <image:title>Home - Since the beginning:</image:title>
<image:caption>You Therapy opened in 2013 in Brooklyn Center. From the beginning, it was founded on a philosophy: “Change Begins in You”. 1)No theory, concept, new idea on therapy, clinic name or identity, or founder comes before what your needs as a person in distress. 2) You should feel safe to seek support and understanding without assumptions. 3) the physical space should be safe, warm, and inviting. 4) each therapist should feel empowered to practice good therapy and form a solid professional relationship with those that they serve.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About Us - Erik J. Rinke, MA LMFT</image:title>
<image:caption>Erik is kind and caring while also direct and challenging. He mixes a calming, supportive presence with awareness of strategic planning toward growth and resolution. Over the past 16 years, Erik has openly worked with people in the area that face challenges big and small. With specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Erik has increasingly focused on trauma or faced concerns with awareness of trauma. Setting/Availability: both in-office and in-person Availability: Various Days and Times. All TBD in communication with Erik. Special Training/Experience: “In the roughly 20 years that I’ve been doing this, I don’t think any special training comes close to what’s gained from sitting with people as they cry, struggle, laugh, and journey through whatever they’re facing.” “I also acknowledge that I’ve changed over time. I used to think that I had to fix people and push them. Now, I’m more supportive and responsive; we work through whatever is afflicting them together… they own it, and I guide and care, more than provide a fix.” Erik is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and maintains up-to-date training on this practice. Through training, practice, and research, Erik is interested in the roles unlabeled trauma and attachment play in lifelong development. Erik is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Minnesota (since 2007). Erik is also a State Board Approved Supervisor, which means he advises new or unlicensed therapists. Erik has a Master’s Degree from Argosy University. Erik’s degree is in Marriage and Family Therapy, which focuses on both interpersonal problems and solutions, as well as individual concerns with emphasis on systemic/family interaction with the individual. Personal: Erik is a committed father of 3 and husband. In the wild, you might find him running trails at Theodore Wirth or Elm Creek, where’s probably preparing for another ultramarathon.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Services - Individual Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>There’s a pretty good chance that you’ve found your way onto this website because you’re looking for individual therapy. Although you may have never seen a therapist before, this form of treatment is familiar to us all. In some cases, being alone with your therapist may be the safest way to express your personal life. For others, doing individual therapy is like going to the spa or getting a massage, in that it’s uninterrupted ‘me time.’ Still others take it like working-out with a personal trainer, taking advantage of personal attention for intense personal growth. Whatever the case, Individual Therapy can be highly gratifying.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Services - Family Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>Families are beautiful and extremely messy. Love, support, the pressures of modern life, and ongoing frustrations all mix together in a complex web that may need help sorting and managing. So, naturally there are many reasons why you may be seeking family therapy. From an individual perspective, understand that your success may be greatly helped or hindered by the people who are around you most often or have the biggest influence over you. Including them in your healing process then, is a way to work toward securing your success. Parents may be seeking help because one of your children is “OUT OF CONTROL!” Perhaps there so much tension at home that you like your kids best when you’re away from them. Maybe you feel your family slipping and becoming more distant. Or maybe you’ve all been through a lot, and want to get life back to normal. Often times, a great deal of shame can be associated with being able to relate to one of the above noted concerns. Family therapy is a practical solution and a great step toward returning to a happy and enriching family life. It can be challenging and difficult, but you can build the kind of success that lasts.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Teletherapy - Teletherapy: how to</image:title>
<image:caption>From the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve offered therapy through a virtual connection Currently, our therapists are offering either/or/both live in-office therapy and teletherapy. Discuss your options with your therapist. We use Google Meet, Doxy.me, or the Teletherapy option within the Therapy Notes portal to provide you with confidential services. All three are secure and available. Your therapist will work with you to determine which is best for you to connect; often one will serve as backup to the other. The following is a basic how-to: GOOGLE MEET. If your session is being provided on Google Meet you will need to download Google Chrome on your computer or the Google Meet app on your smart phone. If you have a Google account, you can login. You do not need to create an account if you do not already have one. Your therapist will email you a link to connect you to the online meeting. Click the link to join the session If you have not joined the session after 5 minutes your therapist may try to call you using a Google Meet phone number. By answering the call, you will have access to the meeting audio. Although the Google Meet option may appear more complex than Doxy, it may be preferred for a number of reasons. Primarily, if you plan to meet with multiple people (multiple You Therapy therapists, distant family therapy), this is our best option. Therapy Notes. If you are starting with You Therapy for the first time on or after March 2022, you should have access to the Patient Portal with Therapy Notes. If that’s the case, you will be emailed instructions to join the link for your session. If you are returning to You Therapy, it may be best to utilize the Patient Portal to update your information and then gain the same access as noted above. DOXY.ME. You Therapy maintains a virtual office at doxy.me. Upon clicking on the link (https://doxy.me/youtherapy1), you will directly enter You Therapy’s virtual waiting room. From there, your therapist will connect with you. You do not need to create an account. Tips for a successful Telemedicine session: Use a secure internet connection. Sit in a private room, facing a light, and reduce background noises. Do not run other tabs/apps during your session. Use the most updated software available for your device. Check to make sure your webcam, microphone, and speakers are on. In the interest of your privacy, we will not have sessions when you are in a public space.</image:caption>
